Steve Jobs to Take Medical Leave Until June

Today Apple issued a statement detailing an email that Steve Jobs sent to all Apple employees today. Steve Jobs will be taking medical leave until June to focus on his health, which he says has become a distraction to the people at Apple as well. He also said that in the past week he has learned that his health issues are more complex than originally thought. The day before Macworld 2009 where Phil Schiller gave the Macworld keynote address Apple published this open letter from him. Tim Cook will take over day-to-day operations, just as when Steve took medical leave in 2004 over pancreatic cancer. Apple shares were down $6.03 to $79.30 in after hours. The question now becomes whether everyone actually knew the full story based on the open letter published the day before Macworld 2009.
